@North Drop In Session with the BBC

Tuesday 05th January, 2010
@North is a new, collaborative initiative by the BBC that aims to reach out to Northern creative talent.
The project represents a new model of engagement with individuals, independent companies and digital agencies across the North. The BBC will, as part of the project, work closely with the regional screen agencies - North West Vision and Media, Northern Film and Media and Screen Yorkshire.
This pilot project will be led by BBC Children’s and will involve multi-disciplinary teams from many other areas of the BBC in new collaborative ways of working. It is hoped the project will establish good practice which will form the basis of all future working with independent companies in the north.
Our ultimate aim is to find the best multiplatform and interactive content for CBeebies and CBBC – this could be in the form of web content, mobile content, gaming or applications. What we’re after is the kind of creativity that sets the standards for children’s content in the future. In doing so, we’re also hoping to broaden the types of companies that the BBC works with.
At the drop-in session, experts from the BBC who are working on the project will be on hand to talk you through the process and answer any questions you may have about @North
Drop In Sessions will be held on Friday 15th January
11.30am - 1.30pm Northern Film & Media, Studio 2, Hoults Yard, Newcastle
2.30pm - 4.30pm IDI, Teesside University Campus
If you would like to apply to take part in the @North scheme, please read the guidelines attached and fill in the application form.
