Sound & Vision Scheme 2009- The scheme has now closed for entries

Call for Entries – Filmmakers

Are you inspired by music?

Have you ever been motivated by sound or music for your film ideas?

Do you find it difficult to find regional composers?

If the answer is yes, the Sound & Vision Scheme is the scheme for you!

Northern Film & Media and Generator North East have joined forces to deliver a unique scheme aimed at drawing upon the collective talents of North East musicians, remixers and filmmakers. Sound & Vision will give one filmmaker the opportunity to work with local band Jimmy and the Sounds to produce a music video for the DJ Franco Philippe remix of their track ‘Sounds’.

The selected filmmaker will be commissioned by us to make the music video with a production budget of £7000 and be mentored by Dick Carruthers. Carruthers is one of the industry’s most respected music video filmmakers and has worked with Oasis, The Killers, Take That, The Who, Alicia Keys, The Rolling Stones and many more.

Filmmakers are invited to submit a video idea for the track. You can listen to the track at Latest News section of Northern Film & Media’s website.

The scheme is open to directors, writer/directors or producers, production companies attached to a director based in the North East region (Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Tees Valley). Applicants must be over 18 and not in full-time or undergraduate education.

Capital Support Programme for Participatory Media Organisations

NFM is offering participatory media organisations the opportunity to apply to the Capital Support Programme.  The 12 month programme aims to increase an organisations fundraising capacity by signposting and supporting funding bids to ‘new’ sources of income whilst embedding the skills for sustainable delivery beyond the 12 month programme.

Ideally organisations should be small to medium in scale with a minimum of 2 years track record and a vision of work they would like to deliver in 2010/2011.
