Sound & Vision Scheme 2009

Call for Entries – Filmmakers

Are you inspired by music?

Have you ever been motivated by sound or music for your film ideas?

Do you find it difficult to find regional composers?

If yes, the Sound & Vision Scheme is the scheme for you!

Northern Film & Media and Generator North East have joined forces to deliver a unique scheme aimed at drawing upon the collective talents of North East musicians, remixers and filmmakers. One filmmaker will have the opportunity to work with regional band Jimmy and the Sounds to produce a music video for the DJ Franco Philippe of their track ‘Sounds’.

Filmmakers are invited to submit a video idea for the track. You can listen to the track at Latest News section of Northern Film & Media’s website.

One filmmaker will be commissioned by us to make the music video with a production budget of £7000 and be mentoring by Dick Carruthers. Carruthers is one of the industry’s most respected music video filmmakers and has worked with Oasis, The Killers, Take That, The Who, Alicia Keys, The Rolling Stones and many more.

The scheme is open to directors, writer/directors or producers, production companies attached to a director based in the North East region (Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Tees Valley). Applicants must be over 18 and not in full-time or undergraduate education.

Interested parties should listen to the track, read the guidance notes and apply through our new online application service at https://www.GrantRequest.com/SID_1176?SA=SNA&FID=35008 by the 11th June. You can return to your incomplete application at https://www.GrantRequest.com/SID_1176?SA=AM
