Location of the Month
Falck Nutec

Centre in Billingham which offers Safety and Survival Training.
The centre has various facilities. One of these is a water tank in which the conditions can be manipulated to demonstrate various weather conditions. Rain, hail, wind, waves, and darkness can all be simulated.
There is a cockpit of a helicopter which is used to practise escapes from the vehicle in the sea. Also in the centre are a variety of classrooms and seminar rooms. There is also a canteen. The building itself is very modern and fairly plain looking.
At the back is the area they use for teaching how to deal with incidents involving fire. These include some large container style boxes in which fires are lit to be extinguished. There are many storage areas throughout the building.
The building is close to the river and here there are two boats docked, also used in exercises.
Ideal for reconstructions – especially once the pool is dressed!
