BALTIC shortlisted for National Lottery Award
BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead is one of three organisations in the UK to be shortlisted for Best Arts Project in the National Lottery Awards.
BALTIC, who signed a strategic partnership with Northern Film & Media and celebrated its 10th anniversary earlier this year, is urging arts fans in the North East and beyond to get behind its campaign to win the prestigious Award.
The winner in each category, decided by public vote, will be announced on a special BBC One programme later in the year. Click here to register your vote for BALTIC or call 0844 836 3 671. Alternatively, visit level 2 or 5 at BALTIC.
Meanwhile, the gallery has confirmed two new exhibitions from artists Bojan Fajfric and Tris Vonna-Michell.
Fajfric’s film installation depicts the rise of nationalism and journey to war in Fajfric’s native Serbia while Vonna-Michell’s new narrative installation responds to his artist residency at the National Trust property at Gibside, Rowlands Hill, Tyne and Wear.
The exhibitions will open later this month. Click here for further details and here to watch a film about BALTIC and the National Lottery Awards click here.
