Edinburgh TV Festival targets new talent
The MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival’s Network initiative will provide aspiring TV talent with the chance to participate an intensive mentoring programme led by leading industry producers at this year’s Festival, which takes place from 22 -25 August.
Successful applicants will work with top producers of BBC, ITV, Sky and Channel 4 shows and have the chance to put their questions to the TV executives who recruit talent. Previous progressed to work on shows including QI, Big Brother, Newsround and The X Factor.
Participating in The Network is free of charge and no qualifications or industry experience is required.
“Coming on The Network is an incredible opportunity to find out how TV is really made and how you can be a part of this exciting industry,” said Caroline Meaby, The Network’s director.
“There are lots of fantastic careers open to people who have passion and ideas. It doesn’t matter what your current circumstances are. You can be unemployed, a student, working in a shop, whatever – if you’ve got a genuine interest in working in TV then get online and get applying!”
