Triangle

Northern Film & Media, Screen Yorkshire and Skillset have teamed to launch Triangle 2012 - a new national talent development initiative to support emerging writers, directors and producers in film to develop new working relationships – ‘triangles’.

The 11 month programme builds on the pan-Northern Triangle pilot in 2011 and now opens up to talent from across the UK. Triangle 2012 is funded by the Skillset Film Skills Fund as part of A Bigger Future 2, the UK’s Film Skills Strategy.

Triangle 2012 will initially be open to 75 participants and over the next year will be reduced down to four teams of three who will pitch their projects to an industry panel at the BFI London Film Festival. A series of workshops and seminars along with intensive support from industry mentors will support the ‘triangle’ teams as they develop their projects to be market ready.

Industry mentors in Triangle 2011 came from Revolver, Salt, BFI, The Works, E1, Vertigo and Film4. Newcastle University, Sheffield Hallam University and Leeds Metropolitan University will also be supporting Triangle 2012.
