Arts TV Forum, presented by Northern Film & Media and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art
- SOLD OUT - WAITING LIST ONLY -
The proliferation of TV channels, explosion of digital platforms and evergreen popularity of culture consumption ensures that the demand for arts-based programming has never been so strong. But how do arts organisations tap into this growing opportunity? What are commissioners looking for across different platforms? What are the key challenges and how can they be overcome?
Featuring a panel of the leading arts TV commissioners in the UK, Northern Film & Media and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art’s Arts TV Forum will reveal the content requirements of key buyers and provide strategic insights on maximising the digital convergence opportunity. Attendees will also have the chance to network with some of the most influential decision makers in arts-based broadcast media, independent production companies and forward-thinking cultural organisations at this event delivered with media partners Guardian Culture Professionals Network.
Chaired by The Guardian’s Maggie Brown, the panel for the event will include:
- Mark Bell, Commissioning Editor for Arts, BBC
- James Hunt, Channel Director, Sky Arts
- Tabitha Jackson, Commissioning Editor, Arts, Channel 4
The Arts TV Forum will also incorporate a premiere screening of two new shorts by contemporary visual artists Matt Stokes and Cecilia Stenbom. Stokes’ Two Thieves and Stenbom’s How to Choose were commissioned, developed and made through Northern Film & Media’s Artist’s Cut development initiative in association with Channel 4 and Arts Council England.
